Memphis Eats
Here are a few of the places that we visit and recommend to check out while you are in town.
commisary
The Commissary is one of our go to places to get BBQ here in Memphis. There are multiple locations in the Memphis area. The Collierville location is their newest building and has a nice family friendly atmosphere.
Wolf River Cafe
This is a nice little place in Rossville TN that has that nice small town feel to it. Every time Katie and I have gone here the staff have always been wonderful.
Hattie B's
If you want Nashville style hot chicken in Memphis, Hattie B's is the place to check out. Chicken is always good with varying levels of spice to choose from.
Elwood's Shack
Here is one of those places you have to be looking for to find it. They have a large menu to pick from, even a picky eater will find something they like.
Jimbo's Brickhouse BBQ
Jimbo's is just south of Collierville, and is in Byhalia Mississippi. This place feels about as southern as it gets for BBQ. If you want the brisket though, make sure to get there for lunch, by dinner time the good stuff might be gone already.
Dyer's
Dyer's is a place that is featured on many food shows. Great place to grab some burgers and fries. What makes this place unique is that they deep fry their burgers there. Added benefit is that it is in the Collierville square.
Tokyo Grill
If you aren't feeling BBQ then maybe some sushi will hit the spot. Katie's favorite place to get some sushi. This place is affordable and gives you large servings.
Osaka Japanese Cuisine
Another favorite of ours is Osaka's. Choose to eat at the table or the hibachi if you would like.
Flying Saucer
Just want a nice beer and some small bites? Flying saucer has one of the widest selections of beer around.
Delta Blues Winery
Here is a nice winery that also has cider on tap as well. Beautiful place to visit in the summer with the pond out front.

Cafe Piazza
This is a nice little eatery inside of the Collierville square. Great for brunch or dinner.
Forest hill grill
This is a very unassuming place looking at it from the outside. Inside this place is fairly nice with a good selection of whiskey and bourbon on hand for those who like a drink with dinner. Everything we tried here was nice as well as offered a good selection of food.
peabody
This is often declared as the best restaurant in town. A more expensive place to eat, but would make for a great date night while you are in town. Katie and I have yet to eat here, but is definitely on our to do list.
